Don’t miss out on San Francisco’s Annual Tour de Fat- a walk on the Belgian side of things!

Traveling all over the country as a part of a tour (de fat), New Belgium Brewing’s series of events also brings together packs of some of the bay’s most fancily dressed characters.  Ranging all the way from tuxedos, capes, and crowns to tutus, the lineup of events span from music to art installations, as well as plenty of events for you to learn about beer, the way it’s made, and stacks of opportunities to indulge!

Comedy and Kites: A Weekend of Fun Family Events in San Francisco

Are you looking for the perfect events that you can attend with your kids and not worry about inappropriate content? Then you cannot miss the weekend of September 17 and 18. Not only will the adults have lots to do, but the kids will not complain of boredom either considering this weekend’s lineup of comedy and kites.

San Francisco Family Day Kite Festival September 17

Do you have kids, love kites, or both? Then this is one festival you do not want to miss. The Annual Kite Festival is a mash up of both amateur and pro kite flyers, all coming together to simply have some fun. Not only can everyone make their own kites at the Make-a-Kite Pavilion, but there will be age appropriate contests, professional kite shows, a half a dozen contests, and much more.

Located at the Marina Green Park at Marina Green Drive, this festival starts 11 AM Saturday the 17 and ends September 18 at 6 PM. It is free to attend, and if children attending do not have their own kites, then one will be provided for them. While this is a two day event, if you attend on Saturday, you could stay at the nearby Alpine Inn and make a weekend of family fun, attending the next event Sunday.

31^st Annual Laughfest September 18

Italian Food and Ghirardelli Chocolate coming to the San Francisco Area

San Francisco has always been the epicenter of great events, and great food from around the world, and now, with the fall weather upon us, there is a limited amount of time left to take advantage of attending outdoor events in the area. This festival, hosted by Ghirardelli Chocolates, is in its 16^th year, and is sure to keep even the adult kids happy. It starts noon Sarturday September 10 and will lasts until 5 PM Sunday, the 11^th, and will be located at the Ghirardelli Chocolate factory at 900 N. Point Street in San Francisco. During the festival, people who have purchased tickets will be allowed to taste up to 15 samples of chocolate, but you can always buy more. Tickets are $20 each, and the proceeds of the festival will benefit Project Open Hand, a San Francisco organization providing food for AIDS/HIV sufferers, critically Ill and homebound persons in addition to seniors.

Festa Coloniale Italiana Free!

In its fourth year, the Italian Athletic Club at 1630 Stockton Street in San Francisco hosts the Festa Coloniale Italiana, also known as the Colonial Italian Festival in English, and it begins at 11 AM and runs until 6 PM September 10. Featuring traditional beer, wine, fun and great food that runs deep with traditional Italian roots, the Athletic club will transform itself into a traditional Italian piazza featuring traditional live Italian music. The food will include everything from savory sausage to creamy cannolis.

Because this festival is only on Saturday, you might want to attend this festival before the Ghirardelli chocolate festival , since the chocolate festival runs all weekend. Either way, why not make a weekend of the events, and stay the night at the Alpine Inn in Daly City? Yo-Yo Ma and the Pleasanton Harvest Festival Original Art & Craft Show

If you are staying at the Alpine Inn in Daly City, California in the month of September you’re already likely to have a packed calendar. It is located smack in the middle of downtown San Francisco. Downtown Millbrae is transformed for this festival, turning it into a replica of New Orleans for a Mardi Gras-style celebration.
